Our meeting place -
Thames Chase Forest Centre, Upminster

The Forest Centre is at the heart of the Thames Chase Community Forest in a group of historic farm buildings called Broadlands with a stunning wooden-framed visitor centre. We use the carefully restored 17th century Essex barn – one of the best preserved in the London area – and the Ford Education Room converted from the farm cart shed. The facilities are up-to-date while showing the traditional architecture of the local farming community.
How to get there:
The address is Thames Chase Forest Centre at Broadfields, Pike Lane, Upminster, Havering, RM14 3NS.
OS Ref: TQ 585 865. Google Maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/Dvad3AFQ1RtDV5fB9
It’s about a mile from the centre of Upminster, in quite a rural area.

Coming by car from the centre of Upminster, turn right after the Thatched House pub into Pike Lane and the entrance to the car park is just over 1/3 mile (about 600 metres) down the road on the left.
There are buses which pass nearby, but they are a long walk (about half a mile) from the visitor centre and are infrequent in the evening, so are not recommended. Please contact the Chair, Les Jones (enquiries@havastro.co.uk) to arrange transport to the venue if you do not have your own transport.
There is plenty of car parking.

Entrance to Thames Chase Forest Centre from Pike Lane
The Centre is about 400 yards down a narrow drive.
This entrance is easy to see in daylight, but harder in the dark.
