Ian Moss

My initial interest in imaging was just to make a record of the more interesting moments of my observing. At first, I persevered with short exposures using an old digital compact camera making images of a few double stars, star clusters and the Moon using a Maksutov telescope of 1500mm focal length on an AltAz GOTO mount. I have moved on over a long learning curve (still going) to my current interest in nebulae and galaxies using a short refractor and a dedicated astronomy camera.

Equipment:

Mount: Skywatcher HEQ5 Pro with Rowan belt drive.

Telescope: RVO Horizon 60ED F6 Refractor (usually with a 0.8 reducer/flattener) and fitted with an auto-focuser, electronic filter wheel and guide-scope.

ZWO ASI585MC astronomy camera.

All controlled with ZWO ASiair Plus.
