Outreach and External Events

See also our Events & Activities and Young Astronomers pages for more info and photos

The Havering Astronomical Society is able to offer outreach activities to support local clubs and organisations, such as schools, youth groups (including Guides, Brownies, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers) and other local groups interested in finding out more about the wonders of the night sky.

We offer interactive talks and guides to the night sky (indoors using our laptop planetarium app) as well as live observing through our telescopes (outdoors; clear skies permitting, of course). We can tailor our talks to schools' curricula for KS2 and KS3, and cover the activities required for astronomy badges.

From time to time, we give talks to family events at Thames Chase Forest Centre, and set up a stand at other venues such as South Weald Park and Cranham Brickfields Nature Reserve.

We do not charge for talks, but invite a donation to our club which will help us to continue to offer our support to the local community.

Please contact us (enquiries@havastro.co.uk) if you would like to find out more and make a booking.
